Best Hostel in Tokyo
Book and Bed Tokyo Hostel
This Tokyo Hostel Redefines what you think of Hostels.
If you’ve ever wanted to sleep in a bookstore then look no further. Book and Bed Tokyo is basically a bookstore that lets you sleep in the shelves. It occupies the 7th and 8th floor right next to Ikebukuro Station. It boasts a selection of over 1,600 books, manga, and magazines in both English and Japanese.
Sleeping Arrangements
When I said you sleep in the shelves, I wasn’t kidding. Each individual “bunk” is literally inside the shelves amongst the books. Whilst privacy is adequate with the attached curtain, there are also regular dormitory beds on the 7th floor if you want some peace and quiet.
Facilities
If you can’t sleep, the hostel also features a bar and a small kitchen space with a microwave, toaster, dishes, and coffee machine. Bathrooms are also modern and clean.
Location
Book and Bed is also located in Shinjuku, Asakusa, Kyoto, Shinsaibashi, and Fukuoka. Some branches, like their Shinjuku and Shinsaibashi locations also feature private rooms for two!
I know I’ll definitely be staying here the next time I’m in Japan. What are some crazy hostels that you guys have stayed in? Comment below, we would love to know!
